Christopher Mele is an urban sociologist. His research interests include the geography of race and social exclusion and the impact and consequences of neoliberalism on urban policy, urban development, affordable housing, and public space. Publications include: Selling the Lower East Side: Real Estate, Culture and Resistance in New York  City; and, Access to Cyberspace and the Empowerment of Disadvantaged Communities, in Communities in Cyberspace.
