Refugee women face a complex matrix of resilience and vulnerability in resettlement.  Sarah Richards-Desai uses a critical transnational feminist lens when exploring the social capital and economic participation of refugee women resettled in North America.

She also supports the local efforts of newcomer communities through membership on the Board of World Refugee Day in Western New York, Inc., and the not-for-profit Stitch Buffalo.
