Each year, PPG leads a democratic process among its partners to determine the Community Agenda for the coming year. In the fall, PPG asks our 300+ partners to submit policy change proposals. Then, in November, the partners gather to discuss their ideas and vote for their top ten priorities.

The partners made their choices. The list is finalized. And now it's time to kick off our 2022 agenda!

This year’s public roll-out of the Community Agenda will take place on Thursday, January 13th at 9:30am. This will be a virtual event on Zoom; register for the event here: http://www.bit.ly/2022CArollout.

At the roll-out event, an advocate for each proposed policy will share why it matters for our city and region. These speakers include:

  • Jeanette Koncikowski of Grassroots Gardens of WNY on using vacant public land for the public’s benefit in Buffalo;
  • Kathryn Franco of the Western New York Law Center on enacting public banking in New York State;
  • Laurie Dean Torrell and Richmond Wills of Just Buffalo Literary Center on the creation of a comprehensive well-supported cultural plan for Buffalo and Erie County;
  • Leah Daniel of Fostering Greatness on ensuring special access to city services for young people who recently graduated from foster care;
  • Ting Lee of the Language Access Working Group on expanding language access at all levels of government.

Elected officials will voice their support for agenda items, including Erie County Legislature Chair April Baskin, NYS Senator Tim Kennedy, NYS Senator Sean Ryan, Buffalo Common Council Member Rasheed Wyatt, Buffalo Common Council Member Joel Feroleto, and more.

Spoken word artist Brandon Williamson, creator of Pure Ink Poetry, will open the event.
