Our guests this week are both from our partner organization VOICE Buffalo. Kartika Carr, Integrated Voter Engagement Lead Organizer, and Whitney Walker, MSW, Executive Director will talk with us about removing police from frontline response to mental health crises. The first of our 2021 Community Agenda priorities, this plank looks to Erie County to develop a county-wide mental health emergency response team comprised of mental health professionals to act as on-site first response teams during mental health emergencies. Carr and Walker will explain why this is necessary.
