Join us on The Public Good! We'll speak with New York State Senator Tim Kennedy on the recently adopted Driver's License Suspension Reform Act, a law that ends the practice of suspending a person’s driver’s license when they cannot afford to pay a traffic fine. We discuss why this was a necessary change and how it can help residents break out of the cycle of poverty and punishment. We'll also discuss additional transportation justice issues, from investment in public transit to building complete streets. Finally, we'll discuss COVID-19 and the disparities it has highlighted, and policies that can help overcome them--including Senator Kennedy's recent bill to ensure that vaccines are being equally distributed.
