This training addresses what the Freedom of Information Law is and how researchers and community organizers can use it to deepen their analysis and strengthen their project or campaign.
Join the University at Buffalo Civil Liberties and Transparency Clinic as they cover the basics of how to effectively request public records using freedom of information laws, what types of documents you can obtain through records requests, and strategies for using public records in your campaigns or research project. You will have the opportunity to workshop a specific FOIL request.
