Buffalo Commons Virtual Forum: Democratizing Data: An Open Forum on the WNY Data Landscape

Due to the developing COVID-19 situation, the three-part Data Driven Community Research series will be postponed. In its place, please join Cornell ILR Buffalo Co-Lab geographer and data analyst Rusty Weaver, PhD, for a virtual forum on the Western New York data landscape.

The conversation will engage with questions such as:

  • How do you or your organization use data?
  • For what purposes?
  • What are your current data needs?
  • What data sources do you use on a regular basis and why?
  • What data sources do you avoid and why? (E.g., difficult-to-use interface, poor or unhelpful supporting documentation, etc.)
  • What other data sources are out there, and at what scale of analysis?

RSVP to buffalocommons@cornell.edu to be sent a Zoom link for this virtual forum. This event is free and open to the public.

Buffalo Commons offers workshops that share knowledge for the public good on topics ranging from civic engagement and local policy to best practices in community-based research. These workshops provide technical assistance and capacity building for social sector workers and the public in WNY.
