Join us on The Public Good this week! We'll hear from Maria Ta, Program Manager at Ujima Company, and Orlando Dickson, Civic Educator at Partnership for the Public Good. They'll be discussing the collaborative project "Legacy of Lead," a short play that shares a day in the life of a single mom with a child affected by lead exposure.
Lead exposure remains a major issue in Buffalo as a result of old and deteriorating housing stock. Due to concentrated poverty and segregation, lead exposure has an especially dangerous effect on communities of color. Tune in to hear the full play and listen to a discussion on how the project came to be and some actions being taken to reduce lead exposure throughout Buffalo.
"Prevent Childhood Lead Exposure in Buffalo and Erie County" is Item 9 on PPG's 2019 Community Agenda. Be sure to tune in live on Power 96.5 WNY at 10pm, and on PPG’s Facebook page at 1pm Tuesday, August 13. You won’t want to miss it!
