Join us on The Public Good this week! We’ll hear from David Castillo, Director of the University at Buffalo Humanities Institute, a multidisciplinary center established by the College of Arts and Sciences to promote innovative teaching, research, and programs in the humanities. He’ll be discussing this year’s Buffalo Humanities Festival, “2019: Democracy,” which includes three days of conversations around local, national, and international crisis of democracy.
The festival, taking place Thursday, September 19 through Saturday, September 21, kicks off Thursday evening with a free presentation with Ibram X. Kendi and Chenjerai Kumanyika entitled "Democracy and the Legacy of Racism." It continues Friday evening with spotlight speaker Matt Taibbi, and concludes Saturday with a day of talks, panels, and performances.
