Join us on The Public Good this week! We’ll hear from Emma Fabian, Senior Director of Harm Reduction at Evergreen Health. She’ll be discussing the second WNY Harm Reduction Conference, an opportunity to continue the examination of the impacts of drugs in our area and how professionals and community members from various backgrounds can work to reduce harms and move toward a safer, healthier, and dignifying community for everyone.
The conference, which will take place on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Hotel Henry will include a keynote presentation and panel discussions that explore:
---The Harm Reduction philosophy and the social determinants of health;
---How to destigmatize healthcare;
---The roles professionals and community members from various backgrounds can play in the Harm Reduction Movement;
---How to provide access to medicated assisted treatment for our most high-risk populations, and;
---Insights from people and lived experience.
Evergreen encourages service providers, community leaders, public health officials, members from educational institutions, community organizers, and directly impacted people to attend this day free of cost. RSVP is required - please follow the link here to register; complimentary valet parking and lunch will be provided. Evergreen asks no more than five people from the same organization are registered.
