Join the Buffalo Niagara Community Reinvestment Coalition (BNCRC) for our first annual Community Banking Summit taking place Saturday, September 21 from 11am to 1:30pm at the King Urban Life Center (938 Genesee Street, 14211).

Free and open to the public, the BNCRC will introduce the community to its work with banks at this fun-filled community event. The event will feature short informational sessions through which attendees will learn Buffalo’s history of discrimination through banking, which caused the blight and inequality seen today; how the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) attempted to change these backwards policies; and how policy is used to make change today through Community Benefits Agreements and other negotiations with banks. It will also be an opportunity to hear more about existing Community Benefits Agreements with KeyBank and Northwest Bank, what the BNCRC does to hold banks accountable, and what community members can do to get involved.

There will also be fun for all ages with food trucks, games, face painting, music, bounce houses, interactive exhibits, and more!
