Theodore Roosevelt, the Labor Question & 'Malefactors of Great Wealth': Lessons for a New Age of Inequality

The Theodore Roosevelt Site sponsors Speaker Nite series, where experts and practitioners are invited to share their thoughts and examine issues that were important during TR's lifetime and continue to be relevant today.

This month, we'll welcome Joseph McCartin, Ph.D., Professor of History at Georgetown University and the Executive Director of Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor. His research and writing focuses on the intersection of labor organization, politics, and public policy. He teaches courses in 20th Century U.S. Labor History, U.S. Since 1945, America Between the Wars, Modern U.S. State and Society, and 20th Century U.S. Social History. He'll be exploring the relationship between industry and labor during TR’s time, and looking at how we can apply those lessons to today’s world.

~ Special thanks to Cornell in Buffalo, the Partnership for the Public Good, and the WNY Area Labor Federation AFL-CIO for co-sponsoring Dr. McCartin's talk ~

Admission: $5 per person | FREE for TR Site members & Students (w/ ID)
