Understanding Erie County’s Budget: 2027 Edition

Each year by October 15, the Erie County Executive submits a proposed budget for the following year to the Erie County Legislature for consideration then approval in December. This workshop will provide an overview of Erie County’s budget and the process behind it. We’ll look at where the County gets its revenue, what the County spends most of its money on, how spending has changed in recent years, and how the budget connects to the services and programs residents rely on every day.

We'll also talk about how you can get involved! While there are official opportunities for county residents to publicly weigh in on budget proposals, there is an entirely different timeline for advocates calling for greater investment in their priority areas. Participants will have an opportunity to identify priorities that matter to their communities and think through how to advocate for those priorities during the 2027 budget process.

Please register here. Space is limited to 30 in-person participants, so please register for in-person only if you are confident you can attend.
