Census 2020 and Community Efforts: Kartika Carr, Mara Koven-Gelman, Gamileh Jamil, and Meghan Maloney de Zaldivar on The Public Good

Our guests are Kartika Carr from VOICE-Buffalo, Mara Koven-Gelman from the Jewish Community Relations Council, and Gamileh Jamil and Meghan Maloney de Zaldivar from the New York Immigration Coalition. They'll be discussing current and efforts to promote Census 2020, including the importance of accurate Census data for all communities and strategies around ensuring a complete count as the Census approaches early next year.

Census 2020 is approaching, and many government entities, libraries, and community organizations are working to ensure not only that people are educated around the Census, but also that proper funding, resources, and support are provided to work toward a complete count. Census data is detrimental to determining the distribution of federal funding for pivotal programs and decides legislative representation and influences redistricting.
