In November 2022, two Buffalo Police officers and a mental health specialist filed a lawsuit alleging Captain Amber Beyer, in charge of BPD’s Behavioral Health Team, of making racist and discriminatory remarks toward and about Black people, including Black officers. Briana Jones, Youth Organizer at Black Love Resists in the Rust (BLRR), and Tanvier Peart, Director of Policy Advancement at PPG, join us for a conversation about these recent reports and what it all means in the context of systemic issues around policing and particularly police relations with historically over-policed communities of color.
