Do you want to learn how to make change in your community? This day-long summit teaches residents the skills they need to advocate for the changes they want to see.
Join us on Saturday, April 25 from 9am-4pm for our Second Advocacy in Action Summit. This event will be hosted at Hayes Hall (University at Buffalo South Campus).
The summit provides local residents and aspiring community advocates with the opportunity to participate in PPG’s core training curriculum. Topics include Public Policy 101, working with the media, power mapping, tips for meeting elected officials, non-collaboration with ICE, community coalition building, and more. Sessions will run in parallel throughout the day, offering both introductory and advanced workshops, such as coalition building, powermapping, trauma-informed advocacy and more. The summit will conclude with an art session to help participants reflect and recharge before returning to their communities.
