Among its many other roles, PPG offers financial literacy services to its partners and their clients. These services are a mixes of classes, small group presentations, and one-on-one discussions. In order to make this program a success, PPG needs volunteers like you to provide financial literacy information to your fellow community members.

Do I need prior experience? No. We will provide training for volunteers based on experience level. We’re looking for all kinds of volunteers—from those with no experience to those with professional financial know-how.

What will I be teaching? The course content will depend on the partner site’s specific needs. Topics may include: banking, savings, credit, first-time home ownership, budgeting, etc.

Where and who will I be teaching? Our 260 partner organizations are located all across Buffalo and serve a variety of populations. Our current program is with the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO), which offers job training and placement to ex-offenders, but we are interested in placing volunteers with other partners as well.

What is the time commitment? After the volunteer training, you can commit as little or as much time as you like to the program.

If you’d like to serve your community by providing critical financial literacy skills, please contact Colleen Stapleton, cstapleon@ppgbuffalo.org, (716) 246-1707.
