On April 10, 2018 PPG released a new report: Poverty in Buffalo: Causes, Impacts, Solutions. The report was commissioned by the Truth Commission on Poverty in Western New York, which is a part of the national Poor People’s Campaign co-chaired by Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II and Rev. Dr. Lize Theoharis.  The Truth Commission held a hearing in Buffalo on January 25, 2018, at which people impacted by poverty gave testimony.  The report weaves quotations from the testifiers and commissioners together with a full set of data about local and national poverty, highlighting poverty’s impacts on health, housing, education, and criminal justice.
