Acting Mayor Releases Recommended Budget, Opportunities for Public Feedback

Last week, Acting Mayor Chris Scanlon submitted his proposed 2025-2026 city budget to the council. You can find some analyses of it here and here and here and here

The council now has until May 26 to review the budget and make amendments. The final budget must be adopted by June 8.

The council is asking for feedback from the public. You can fill out their form or attend their in-person public hearing on Tuesday, April 29, 5:30pm in council chambers (65 Niagara Square, Buffalo, floor 13). To speak at the in-person hearing, fill out this form.

The mayor will be holding a separate public hearing on Monday, April 28 at 5pm at the Central Library (1 Lafayette Square) about the proposed property tax increase.
