"Kelly Patterson received her PhD in Urban Studies from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.   Her dissertation was “African American Women Overcoming Discrimination: The Effects of Racial Identity, Social Support and Self Esteem on Life Satisfaction.” Her professional interests include: Spatial issues in access to and delivery of social services, Residential housing patterns of impoverished populations, Fair housing advocacy, The role of community-based housing organizations in urban neighborhoods and Subsidized housing.
