Partnership for the Public Good (PPG) is a community-based think tank that builds a more just, sustainable, and culturally vibrant community through action-oriented research, policy development, and civic engagement. Each year, our partners use a democratic process to create a Community Agenda: ten ways that state and local government can act to improve Buffalo Niagara in the coming year.
Together, PPG and Cornell University host the Buffalo Commons, which includes a digital library of research about Western New York and a set of tools for community groups and researchers to connect and work together. Each summer PPG works with Cornell to bring students to Buffalo to intern with PPG partners through High Road Fellowships.
We are part of innovative collaborations such as Open Buffalo and the Crossroads Collective, and we provide staffing and support for the Greater Buffalo Recycling Alliance and the City of Buffalo Living Wage Commission. We also host a weekly radio show, the Public Good, and offer workshops, forums, and other events throughout the year.
Major supporters include Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, John R. Oishei Foundation, Western New York Foundation, the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation, Open Society Foundations, Chorus Foundation, Cameron and Jane Baird Foundation, Frank G. Raichle Foundation, M & T Bank, PUSH Buffalo, WNY Area Labor Federation, Cornell University, and many more.
